On October 2, 2024, the opening ceremony of the electric vehicle incident management course, organized by AMIVE for the Heroic Fire Department of Mexico City, was held. The training was given by experts Dulce Gutierrez Fuentes, Youssef Barquet Zapata and Macario Ramírez Santana. AMIVE affiliated companies Fotón México and Chirey México supported this initiative by providing vehicles and providing training components.
The course is designed to provide the Heroic Fire Department with elements for the management of incidents such as collision, flooding and fire of electric vehicles (EV) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) and aims to train firefighters, as first responders, with the necessary knowledge to avoid, reduce and mitigate the risks associated with electromobility.
At the inauguration, the director of AMIVE, Diana Avalos, emphasized that electric vehicles and their charging infrastructure are safe, since each component is subject to tests and safety reviews even in extreme conditions, but she acknowledged that accidents happen and as an industry we want to promote a responsible and orderly transition, sharing technical training and establishing strategic alliances with Civil Protection bodies.
We thank the Heroic Fire Department of Mexico City, especially the First Superintendent Juan Manuel Pérez Cova, General Director of the H. Fire Department and Edgar Aguilar López, Director of the Fire Academy. We also thank Marla Cortés from Chirey México and Andree Robles from Fotón México for their support in teaching this course.
AMIVE reaffirms its commitment to promote safe and orderly electric mobility.
